Dinner Xara Lodge on the 26th July 2022

Dear friends and fellow wine lovers,

Please find attached a belated July report - apologies for this which was due to an unexpectedly high workload - so much for being 'retired'!

 

The event was less heavily attended than usual and this was expected as there were competing events, most notably Joseph's concert as well as the usual holiday travel.

 

However the event went very well with no hiccups and the usual great service from the experienced Xara staff.  From what I saw all tables were enjoying themselves.

 

I found that the wines were as expected and my vote matched the average even on the higher side for all wines - Portugese wines are among my favourites and I feel are still very good value for those who take the trouble to choose well.

 

We were a small but thirsty lot as consumption was an exceptional 1.3 bottles each!
